Pochampally Ikat Pure Silk Saree With Blouse
Pochampally Ikat Pure Silk Saree With Blouse
-
Origin: Pochampally is a weaving village famous for its ikat tradition. The designs are made by dyeing the threads before weaving. The geometry / patterns thus have a characteristic slightly fuzzy “edge” because of how the dye bleeds into tied yarn.
-
Material: “Pure silk” means mulberry silk yarns without synthetic blends. Sometimes silk mark certified.
-
Weave: Handloom. Many are single ikat, some are double ikat. Double ikat is more labor‐intensive and hence costlier.
-
Length/Dimensions: Usually ~5.5 to 6 meters with blouse piece included.
-
Care: Dry clean or gentle wash, avoid strong detergents; iron on reverse; avoid harsh sunlight.
